monologues, woo.

[NEWS] 
So, today I'm staying home to memorize & prepare two monologues
for my talent scholarship audition down at Keene tomorrow. :] It's a $3000 scholarship that goes to one incoming freshman... and I think I have a chance. The audition consists of two monologues (for acting majors-- for dance it'd be a dance or something I guess) at or under 5 minutes, then an interview for the next fifteen, twenty minutes. I'm excited for the interview part, because it will give me a chance to meet the theatre professors and head of the department. And I'm a pretty personable person. I've been going over things to say in my head. But, yeah. I'm excited.
I've been rehearsing for an hour and I've got one monologue down. It's just a matter of tweaking some things and coming to a conclusion of whether to use a Southern accent or not.
The monologues I'm doing, by the way, are:
1. Allie from "The Notebook" (novel, not movie) as a dramatic one.
2. Lucy from "While You Were Sleeping" (movie) as a comedic one.
I've done them both before (two years ago) so they're buried in my mind somewhere. So, this will help me because of the short amount of time I've had to prepare! I hope I'm not looked down upon because I'm not doing Shakespeare or something classical... But, it's not like it's Juliard or anything. It's Keene State College. WOO.
But, I'm excited because my Mom is coming because she has the day off, and she hasn't seen the college before! My dad brought me to my music audition so he has seen it. And we're not under time constraints, so we get to chill in Keene (the town) and check things out and go out to eat later! Yay!

Apr. 17-18: All New England Theatre Festival (if we move on)
Apr. 21-25: April break, woo hoo!
May 1: college stuff is DUE for good.
May 9-10: Spring Pops Concert! (my last one, very sad)
May 22: Chorus Concert
May 26: Marching for two Memorial Day parades
June 3: Solo/Small Ensemble Recital
June 5-9: Senior Finals
June 7: Junior Prom that I intend on going to!
June 12: Senior Awards Night
June 13: Senior Class Night
June 14: GRADUATION!
Aug. 23: my 18th birthday, leave for college.
then there are other things in between; things that aren't in my schedule yet.
but right now... mannnn, pretty intense. this is the final stretch.
then I'm in college. Exciting & scary!
