[NEWS] OKAY so. wow. I've been busyyyy with school and such. I really like my schedule, though. BUT. ehehe.
band is amazingggg.
today, six of us, our director, and Dr. Brewster (practically everyone's dentist, plays with Martins [our director] in a jazz/blues band) went around to the three elementary/middle schools to play an instrument demonstration to get them interested in playing an instrument. the six of us who went volunteered for this, yeah.
and it was absolutely awesome. the six high school students played back-up stuff while Martins & Brewster improved on their various instruments (trumpet, euphonium, and trombone for Martins and flute (!!), tenor, and clarinet for Brewster). so, it was a ton of fun. and they're both monsters on their instruments. it's awesome.
anyway. we're at the second school and we were loading things out after the demo, and me and Ashley (a trumpet player & my good friend) were waved into a little third grader music class who wanted to talk to us because they liked us a lot. xD and the music teacher is the sweetest lady, by the way. she's so nice. seriously ... I've never heard her speak badly of anyone/thing ever. but, I digress.
so, I'm standing there and the little eight-year-olds are coming and hugging me and Ashley and this one little boy like. CLINGS to me and is like "hi!" and I was like "aw, hi!" and he looks up at me, and serious as can be says: "I love you." and I just laughed. xD It was SOADORABLE.
so Ash and I are talking to the kids, asking if they're gonna play an instrument, and this kid looks up at me and is like "I love college." and I was just like. "oh, cool." "because you get to pick where you go." "yeah. I'm going there next year." so, we're talking some more to the kids, and this same kid like. takes my hand, inspects my nails, and announces that he likes them (they're painted purple!) and I'm just like "thank you." he's still hugging me at this point, lmao. so then he's like "Ashley, I like your shoes." "thank you!" and then we had to go because we were on a time schedule but he's still clinging to me and he's like "I love you." and I just kind of laughed and I was like "I gotta go, sweetie." and he was like "Ashley, I love you!" and I laughed again and was like "aw, you're so sweet! but, I gotta go." and so then he un-clung and Ash and I left.
it was the cutest/funniest thing ever. xD I CAN'T GET ANYONE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL TO PRONOUNCE LOVE TO ME. BUT A LITTLE EIGHT-YEAR-OLD IS RIGHT ON IT.
it was hilarious.

I'm super excited. xD That's going to kick so much ass. (the song actually starts, like, thirty seconds in when Jerry Lewis sits down and starts pretending to type.) and Martins wants one of the percussionists to do that, too. xD with the typewriter. yessss.
