I was determined to finish this before midnight, and I did - with a minute to spare! yes, I have work in the morning. yes, I'm probably not going to get to sleep for another half hour or so. but- I HAD to finish this today. it was past the point of no return.
anyway.

I'll probably edit this later on, as I look at it again after a break of time and ... notice things. As I kind of do notice some icky things now but I'm over it. I'm tired.

Michael Vartan as Caleb Whealdon, a character of mine.
that's about it. this expression was perfect for the character so I just had to paint it.

things I learned in this process:
- Michael Vartan grows increasingly beautiful as you stare at him for prolonged periods of time.
- Stubble is remarkably satisfying to paint.
- Sometimes, using larger-ish brushes can create just as beautiful detail as a small brush.

Ahh you are really good at realism!! THIS GUY IS VERY GOOD LOOKING.

I'm curious tho. Why do you always say Art and character (c) you when it's just the art..because..this is an actual person.......so....he's not yours. I know you draw them..as your character but you dont change the person from the ref at all so it's a little odd.

And, I mention that because the intention of the drawing IS to be as my character and I mention the character in the comment so I guess I'm saying that this piece of art and the character of caleb/dali/whomever belongs to me? I never thought of it the way you put it!

Ashley this is criminal. You shouldn't be allowed to reproduce this level of hotness so well. We don't need MORE of this guy's ridiculous attractiveness disrupting our day. Geez. Stop being good.
